These are perfect, little bowls. I intend to use them for small dessert portions. But they could be used for setting jello in them, serving a small portion of icecream or using as a side bowl to serve a personal size of condiments, sauces, pickles or dips. The quality of steel is excellent, very well made and very smooth (no sharp edges). The finish in gold is very elegant, not too bright but very evenly done. Handwashed them and placed one in the dishwasher (this is how I typically test to make sure things are dishwasher safe.. use the minimum I can one on the first go). All good. They are very easy to handwash too. I do like to pat dry such items so they don't have any dry water spots. They are unbreakable so if you wanted to give a small child a snack, these are ideal and will leave you stress free! Also if, like me, you're of Indian descent, you can also use them for prayers and offerings. They are actually quite perfect for that purpose too. As also for Indian sweets. They came individually wrapped in a small plastic cover for each of them. And the whole set was packaged in a whole lot of padding and secured with tape. They do not, however, have a box which doesn't bother me one bit. But to some, I guess, it matters..It's a giftable item however, you're better off packing in something a little nicer.
