I'm not sure that this is truly stainless. If it is, it must be a very low grade of stainless steel or their description of stainless means that it won't stain. Mine has discolored a slightly yellowish color. It scratched on the bottom and seems to be rusting at that scratch. And there are two blemishes on the inside, almost like some kind of coating has chipped off. We wanted true stainless steel because we knew the bowl was going to be exposed to water/food and heat for extended periods. I won't use this under those conditions. Perfect dimensions for what I was looking for. Just not convinced it is true stainless steel.
