Don't tell the dogs that these are cat bowls. They might revolt - after eating of course. These dishes are a nice size for a smaller dog, or one that needs to go on a diet. My tendency is to fill my dogs' bowls based on the size of the bowl, not how much food they need. This has resulted in overfeeding many times. The corgi had begun to look like an over-stuffed sausage casing (a hairy one), and was weighing in at *mumble-mumble* pounds. A smaller bowl looks full with less food in it - duh; I have managed to outsmart myself, but the corgi is somewhat suspicious. Meanwhile, the bowls are sturdy, they go through the dishwasher like champs, and they are attractive. Nice product.
